It's been a quiet week in the world of motorcycling for most people, perhaps with the exception of the Yamaha Tech 3 team, who nearly burnt their pit garage down over in Austin, Texas. The good news is that the incident hasn't disrupted their prep too much and they'll definitely be at the start line of this weekend's Moto GP – good luck Cal and Bradley!

KTM 390 Duke

Also hitting our radar were the first reviews of the new KTM 390 Duke. We've been really looking forward to the arrival of this bike. On paper it seems to check all the key points for urban riding in the UK:

  • Great KTM styling and quality.
  • Very light weight at 139kg so easy to manoeuvre in traffic.
  • Decent enough poke at 44bhp allowing you to get a top speed of about 100mph and most importantly the acceleration is decent with a 0-60mph of around 5 seconds.
  • The reassurance of ABS.
  • Good fuel economy at around 60mpg
  • Low insurance costs
  • Relatively affordable at £4500
