A story breaking this week was Valentino Rossi trying his hand at NASCAR racing. After the recent MotoGP race in Austin, Texas Rossi headed over to the Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina putting in a number of practice laps in current NASCAR racer Kyle Busch's 650-horsepower Toyota NASCAR. The test went well according to all involved with Rossi allegedly putting in practice lap times that would be competitive if he was to race in NASCAR. This will no doubt spark endless speculation that following the end of his current contract with Yamaha Rossi will get his adrenaline fix by moving to NASCAR. We have to admit his neon 46 numbered car does look awesome:

Rossi isn't the only rider to be linked with car racing in recent times. Obviously when Casey Stonor announced his retirement speculation was rife that he was going to switch to V8 racing. He duly did this moving to the Australian V8 Supercars Series racing a Holden Commodore V8.

It's very early days for Stonor's four wheel racing career. He's competed in one race where due to a tyre blow-out he retired from the race in the early sates. We will be keeping a close eye on how Stonor's car racing career progresses and no doubt Valentino Rossi will be too!
